Police lay charges after Richmond and Abbotsford sexual assaults

Sexual Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following alleged sexual assaults on three separate women in Richmond and Abbotsford last weekend.

The alleged incidents took place on Howard and Church streets, Richmond, and Grosvenor Street, Abbotsford in the early hours of Sunday 14 April.

A 21-year-old Richmond man presented himself to a police station this morning in relation to the incident.

He has since been charged with four counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual assault with intent to rape, one count of rape, attempted robbery and stalking.

The man is expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening (20 April).
