Police lay charges after two stabbed – Granville

A man will appear in court charged following an alleged domestic related stabbing in Sydney’s west yesterday

About 2.20pm (Tuesday 14 November 2023), emergency services were called to a home on Grimwood Street, Granville, following reports of a brawl inside the house.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the incident.

A short time later, police received information that an 18-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman had presented at Westmead hospital with stab wounds. He remains in a serious but stable condition while she is stable.

The pair were allegedly injured after being confronted by a man, known to them.

A 25-year-old man was located at the intersection of Woodville Road and Union Street, allegedly in possession of a knife and baseball bat. He was taken to Blacktown Hospital for treatment of a head laceration.

He was later escorted to Granville Police Station and charged with two counts of Wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 15 November 2023).
