Police lay charges – Aggravated robbery – Palmerston 14 January

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to an aggravated robbery in Palmerston earlier this week.

At around 7:30am on Tuesday, police received reports that a male had allegedly stolen an item from a shopping centre on Temple Terrace. The man has then allegedly assaulted an employee with an edged weapon before fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Detectives from Serious Crime arrested a 37-year-old male today who has since been charged with aggravated robbery.

He was remanded to appear in court at a later date.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, “NT Police will not stand for this type of behaviour and those who assault members of our community will face court.”
