Police lay charges – Domestic violence at Tennant Creek 6 July

Northern Territory Police have charged a man with domestic violence related offences after an aggravated assault in Tennant Creek yesterday.

Shortly after 7pm, police received reports that a 45-year-old man had assaulted his partner with blunt weapon at a residence on Ambrose Street, Tennant Creek.

The woman was conveyed to Tennant Creek Hospital with a broken arm and multiple facial lacerations. She currently remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The offender was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with:

  • Recklessly endanger serious harm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Armed with offensive weapon
  • Contravene domestic violence order x 2

He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 10 July 2023.
