Police lay charges over drug offences in Katherine 11 November

Northern Territory Police arrested a woman yesterday afternoon in relation to drug and weapon offences in Katherine.

At around 4:00pm, Katherine Police and detectives from the Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk conducted a traffic apprehension on a vehicle travelling in to Katherine.

A search of the vehicle located a commercial quantity of cannabis and a Taser.

The 30-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule 2 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
  • Supply of Schedule 2 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
  • Possess a prohibited weapon

The woman was remanded in custody to appear in Katherine Local Court today.
