The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and charged a 41-year-old male in relation to an indecent assault incident that occurred in Arlparra Community yesterday morning.
It is alleged that at 10:30am, the 41-year-old approached an adult female employee at a local store and indecently assaulted her. No injuries were reported to police.
Local Arlparra police responded and commenced investigations. The offender was subsequently located and arrested by police later in the afternoon.
He has since been charged with one count of Indecent Touching, was refused police bail, and is due to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
Southern Desert Division Senior Sergeant Jared Thompson said, “This was a disgraceful incident and completely unacceptable in our community.
“I commend the excellent work of our local police to respond and apprehend the offender to ensure he has his day in court.”
