Police lay charges – PSPA, Threatening violence in , QLD

Police have charged a man following the declaration and revocation of an emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) yesterday.

Emergency services were called to an Arnhem Street residence around 4pm after being alerted to a man allegedly making threats.

Police will allege the man barricaded himself inside a residence before surrendering to police without incident at 2.30am today.

The 46-year-old was transported to hospital for assessment before being charged with threatening violence, wilful damage and two counts of serious assault police.

He is scheduled to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow (December 29).
