Police lay charges – Unlawful use of motor vehicle in Darwin 1 March

Detectives from the Northern Territory Police Strike Force Trident have arrested a 17-year-old male for allegedly scaling a zoo fence in Knuckey Lagoon and stealing a company vehicle on Monday night.

The vehicle was later recovered on Foundation Road crashed into a tree.

Detectives attended the youth’s residence, after he was identified through CCTV, and arrested him for trespassing, aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle, drive unlicensed and drive without care.

He has been remanded to appear before court today.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident or with dash cam footage of a Landcruiser ute with no plates driving along McMillans Road on Monday night to contact police on 131 444.
