Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have arrested a 27-year-old male for unlawfully cause serious harm in relation to an incident that occurred in Mitchell Street about 4:20am on Monday 5 October.
Police allege the man headbutted and punched the male victim before both went their separate ways. The victim took a taxi to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Police arrested the alleged offender without incident at an address in Bayview in the early hours of Tuesday 13 October. He appeared in the Darwin Local Court charged with unlawfully cause serious harm and was remanded in custody until 9 December 2020.
