Police lay drug trafficking charge at $450,000 cash seized at Gold Coast

Gold Coast Detectives have charged a man with multiple offences after allegedly seizing more than $450,000 cash and a significant quantity of drugs yesterday (September 7).

Around 9am police executed a search at an Enerley Avenue residence where they allegedly located a quantity of drugs including methylamphetamine, GBL and Buprenorphine, as well as numerous stolen identification and licence cards.

Police will also allege they located approximately $458,000 cash concealed in numerous locations within the residence.

A 44-year-old Mudgeeraba man was taken into custody and later charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, possessing relevant substances, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking, possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of comminating a drug offence and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property.

He was denied bail and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
