Police lay murder charge at Frenchville

Rockhampton police have charged a 22-year-old woman with murder following the death of a two-year-old boy known to her.

On January 18 emergency services were called to a Frenchville address. A two-year-old boy was transported to Rockhampton Hospital before being transferred to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, where he died on January 19.

A subsequent investigation was commenced by Detectives from the Rockhampton Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) and the Child Trauma Unit (CTU).

Following those investigations, a 22-year-old Frenchville woman was charged with one count of murder and will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
