Police lay murder charge at Gladstone

Police have charged a 27-year-old man with murder following the death of a four-month-old boy from Gladstone.

Detectives from Gladstone CPIU and CIB along with investigators from the Child Trauma and Homicide units commenced an investigation after the boy was pronounced deceased in the Queensland Children’s Hospital on January 15.

It is alleged the child sustained multiple injuries during an incident at a Sun Valley residence on January 12 before being transported to Gladstone Hospital and then flown to Brisbane.

The man appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody to reappear in the same court on February 17.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
