Police Lay Robbery Charge At Woolloongabba

Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following investigations into a robbery of a fast-food store in Woolloongabba on 13 July.

It is alleged shortly before 7am yesterday morning, a 38-year-old Mount Gravatt East man stole a small quantity of cash from an Ipswich Road business.

During the theft, the man is further alleged to have pushed over a 25-year-old female staff member who attempted to stop him, before he ran from the store on foot. The staff member was not injured.

Subsequent investigations led to the man being located and arrested by police a few hours later in Woolloongabba.

The man was charged with one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, robbery, contravene direction or requirement of police officer and obstruct police officer.

The man’s police bail was refused, and he is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today, 14 July.
