Police make arrest after evade police incident – Wellard

Mandurah Detectives have charged a High Harm Offender after an evade police incident yesterday morning, Tuesday 22 November 2022.

About 10.05am, police sighted a black Suzuki motorcycle travelling at speed on Hennessey Avenue in Orelia.

Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and attempted to get the rider to stop. It will be alleged the rider did not stop and continued to travel at speed through the suburbs of Baldivis, Wellard and Kwinana.

Police Air Wing was monitoring the motorcycle and directed officers on the ground, resulting in the rider being apprehended in the carpark of the Wellard train station.

The 26-year-old man from Golden Bay has been charged with:

• Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police;

• Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (circumstance of aggravation);

• Drove, Caused or Permitted a Vehicle with a Forged, Replica or False Plate to be Driven on a Road; and

• Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition.

He is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court today, 23 November 2022.
