Police make arrest after Mandurah incident

Mandurah Detectives have charged two people in relation to an incident in Mandurah on Saturday, 31 October 2020.

About 9.10am this morning, Traffic Enforcement Group officers sighted a stolen Holden Commodore travelling on Pinjarra Road and it will be alleged the driver failed to stop and continued through various streets. When the vehicle crossed to the incorrect side of Rouse Road, police aborted the pursuit.

It will be alleged the driver continued on before losing control of the Commodore whilst on the incorrect side of the road and collided with a BMW and a Nissan Navara. The Commodore came to rest on the verge near Park Road. The occupants of the BMW and Nissan Navara were taken to the Peel Health Campus as a precaution.

The male driver and a female passenger fled the vehicle. The woman was apprehended a short distance away. It is alleged the male driver entered a business on Panton Road in Mandurah and threatened staff with a knife before being apprehended.

A 26-year-old man from Waikiki is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow, 1 November 2020 on multiple traffic offences.

A 25-year-old woman from Waikiki was charged with Steal Motor Vehicle and is due to appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 20 November 2020.
