Police make arrest – Aggravated assault in Alice Springs 15 April

Northern Territory Police have arrested a female in relation to an aggravated assault in Alice Springs overnight.

At around 9:00pm, police received reports that a 49-year-old male had been assaulted with an edged weapon in an Alice Springs Town Camp.

The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital and is in a stable condition.

A 44-year-old female was arrested at the scene and detectives from the Alice Springs Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating.

Detective Senior Sergeant Marcus Becker said, “At this stage, we believe this to a domestic violence related assault. Investigations are ongoing and charges are expected later today.
