Arson Squad detectives have charged a 22-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a fire at a hair salon in Balcatta on 17 September 2020.
It is alleged around 4am, the man gained entry into a shopping centre located on Jones Street and from there entered the hair salon.
It is further alleged the man stole items from the store before setting it alight. The fire caused an estimated $50,000 damage.
The 22-year-old man from Bassendean has been charged with:-
• Two counts of Aggravated Burglary and Commit;
• One count of Criminal Damage by Fire; and
• One count of Stealing.
He is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 10 November 2020.
