Police make arrest for Bennett Springs shots fired incident

Midland Detectives have charged a 32-year-old man in relation to shots being fired at a Centaurus Road home in Bennett Springs yesterday, 28 July 2022.

It will be alleged about 3.10am, the man drove to the home and discharged a firearm at the home before driving away. No-one inside the home was injured.

Detectives have recovered the firearm used and the 32-year-old man from Westminster will appear before the Midland Magistrates Court today, 29 July 2022 charged with:-

• Unlawful Act or Omission with Intent to Harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person);

• Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property;

• Possess Firearm with Circumstances of Aggravation;

• 2 x Breached a Violence Restraining Order;

• 3 x No Authority to Drive; and

• Stealing.

Midland Detectives have also charged a 37-year-old man in relation to an incident at the same home that occurred on Friday, 15 April 2022.

It will be alleged about 1pm, the man went to the home on Centaurus Road where he became involved in a verbal argument with the occupant of the home. It is will also be alleged a short time later he threw two bricks towards the home. One landed on the driveway and the other struck a vehicle parked in the driveway, causing damage to the rear bumper.

The 37-year-old man from Dawesville will appear before the Midland Magistrates Court today, 29 July 2022 charged with:-

• Threatened to Kill;

• Unlawful Damage; and

• Made a Threat to Unlawfully do an Act.
