Police Make Arrest Over Accessing CEM

Yesterday Detectives from the Special Crimes Investigation Section arrested a 26-year-old man from the western suburbs of Adelaide for taking steps to access child exploitation material.

The arrest followed an investigation and analysis of the man’s computer which was seized in September 2023 as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation. The man was granted police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 4 July 2024.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Ben Ward states, “Accessing child abuse videos and images is not a victimless crime. These are not just images on a screen, every image and every second of a video has a real child being abused and being subjected to a situation that no child should ever experience.
