Police make arrest over Northern District business breaks, South Australia

A man has been arrested following a number of break ins recently in the Northern District.

Just after 3am on Tuesday 10 December, Elizabeth police were patrolling in Munno Para when they spoke to a man on the corner of Douglas Drive and Curtis Road.

The man, identified as a 19-year-old from Elizabeth Downs, was allegedly wearing a balaclava and gloves. Police placed the man under arrest for wearing an article of disguise.

After an investigation police and Detectives attended the man’s Elizabeth Downs home and conducted a search of the property. It will be alleged officer’s located two cash tills and other property inside allegedly stolen from businesses in Munno Para and Smithfield. Further property was seized allegedly from a recent business break in at Gawler.

The man has been charged with wearing an article of disguise, and six counts of aggravated serious criminal trespass. The man was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday 11 December.
