Police make arrest over unlawful entry in Alice Springs

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to an unlawful entry of a business in Braitling on Tuesday night.

It is alleged the man and a co-offender unlawfully entered a business on Sergeant Street sometime between 7pm on Monday February 10 and 6am on Tuesday February 11.

Once inside the property, it will be further alleged offenders ransacked the office, gained entry into a shed on the property, caused significant damage to a vehicle and stole cash, sporting memorabilia, tools and food from the business.

Attending officers conducted inquiries and located one offender at a home nearby and still in possession of some of the stolen items.

The man was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated unlawful entry of a building with intent to commit offence. He was bailed to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on Friday February 14.

Inquiries to identify the man’s co-offender continue.
