Police make arrest – Property offences at Tennant Creek

A 17-year-old male who is alleged to have unlawfully entered and damaged a property in Tennant Creek two years ago has been arrested in Alice Springs.

Sometime between 5:15pm and 5:25am on 17 October 2020, the youth allegedly unlawfully entered and caused damage to a Tennant Creek supermarket, and stole a sum of cash.

Investigations by Northern Territory Police undertaken at the time identified the youth as the offender involved in the incident, and ongoing inquiries identified him at residing in Alice Springs.

Members of Strike Force Viper located and arrested the youth on Friday morning. He was taken to the Alice Springs Watch House and later charged with:

  • Unlawful entry – building
  • Damage to property
  • Stealing.

He was bailed to appear on 4 July 2022.
