Police make arrest – Strike Force Trident in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in relation to recidivist property offending at several licensed businesses across the Greater Darwin Region last week.

At 8:55pm, on 2 February 2023, the man commenced his four-day crime spree at a licensed premises in Parap. He allegedly assaulted a worker and stole a large quantity of alcohol with a group of co-offenders.

The offender later attended the same business that night and the next day stealing a further quantity of alcohol.

On 4 February 2023, a business in Marrara and Casuarina were targeted by the recidivist offender where he stole another quantity of alcohol.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident investigating the string of crimes were able to identify the alleged offender through CCTV.

Strike Force Trident located and arrested the man yesterday at Casuarina where he was conveyed to Palmerston Watch House and later charged with:

  • Stealing x 3
  • Aggravated robbery x 3

He was remanded in custody to appear before Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said “Strike Force Trident will continue to target recidivist property offenders.

“It is very irrational for offenders to think that they can continue stealing from businesses without consequence.
