Police make arrest – tainted property at Goondiwindi

A routine traffic intercept at Goondiwindi yesterday resulted in police allegedly locating $147 thousand dollars in cash hidden in the cab of a truck.

Officers from the Road Policing Command were patrolling the Cunningham Highway when they intercepted a prime mover at around 5.30pm.

Police will allege a search of the cabin located cash totalling $147,100 stashed in the driver’s visor, as well as hidden in two boxes underneath the bunk area.

A 54-year-old Narangba man, the driver and sole occupant of the truck, was arrested and charged with possessing tainted property. He is due to appear in the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on February 8.

Investigations are continuing.
