Police make arrests after Sandhurst and Lyndhurst incidents

Detectives from the Southern Metro Region Crime Team have arrested five teenagers following a number of incidents in Melbourne’s south east over the last week.

The alleged incidents include:

• A firearms incident and assault in Babylon Street, Clyde North on 9 February;

• An affray at a shopping centre Capital Promenade, Lyndhurst on 9 February;

• An aggravated home invasion, home invasion, attempted aggravated burglary and two attempted burglaries in Nolan Court, Sandhurst on 12 February.

Today detectives arrested four more male youths in relation to the incidents.

Two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old were arrested in Dandenong earlier today and a 19-year-old Cranbourne East man was arrested a short time ago in Cranbourne East.

All are currently in custody being interviewed by detectives.

Detectives previously arrested a 15-year-old male youth on 10 February.

He was charged with theft of motor vehicle, affray, attempted armed robbery, intentionally cause injury and commit indictable offences whilst on bail in relation to the Lyndhurst and Sandhurst incidents.

The youth was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
