Detectives from the Logan Major Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) and Organised Crime Gangs Group have charged seven people on over 100 drug related offences as part of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of methylamphetamine within the Logan District.
The arrests were made as part of Operation Sierra Tagging following the execution of search warrants on properties across Brisbane and Logan commencing Friday September 4.
During the searches, quantities of methylamphetamine were located and seized.
Those arrested include a 42-year-old Brisbane man, charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and possessing and supplying dangerous drugs. He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 18.
A 28-year-old Marsden woman was also charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and supplying dangerous drugs and is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 8.
South East Region MOCS Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said the charges reflect police’s ongoing commitment to disrupting criminal activity in the area.
“Methylamphetamine remains Australia’s highest risk illicit drug, it has a devastating effect on our society and we will continue to utilise every available resource to target those involved in its production and supply,” Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said.
“I encourage anyone with information relating to persons involved in the production or supply of methylamphetamine to contact Crime Stoppers.”
Investigations are continuing.
