Police make further charge as part of thoroughbred doping investigation

Police from State Crime Command’s Queensland Racing Crime Squad have charged a 25-year-old Toowoomba man as part of an investigation into suspected thoroughbred horse doping.

Yesterday members of QRCS charged the 25-year-old man with aggravated fraud. This further arrest forms part of the ongoing investigation into the administration of unregulated performance enhancing supplements designed to avoid detection in racing officials’ testing system.

Three people have previously been charged on June 25, 2019 as part of the operation.

It is alleged the man was intimately involved in the purchase and administration of the supplements.

He will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on December 2.
