Police officer charged in Northern Region, QLD

The Queensland Police Service has charged a male police officer from Northern Region with mid-range drink driving whilst off duty.

The 39-year-old senior constable is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on July 15.

The officer has been stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
