Police pick up man after social media clip of burnout shown to police

Geelong Highway Patrol officers have charged a man after vision of an intentional high-risk driving incident, which was posted on social media, was provided to police.

The 23-year-old man from Corio has been charged with conduct endangering life, careless driving, improper use of a motor vehicle and drive in a manner dangerous.

The charges follow an alleged high-risk driving incident on the Westgate Bridge on Tuesday 19 May just after midnight, which was brought to the attention of police after being shared widely on social media

He has been summonsed to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 18 November 2020.

Police would like to thank the public and media for their assistance with this incident.
