Police release CCTV vision after woman robbed in vehicle in Villawood

Police have released CCTV vision and are appealing for information after a woman was robbed while sitting in a parked vehicle at Villawood last month.

About 9pm on Tuesday 16 July 2019, a 21-year-old woman was sitting in a vehicle, parked in the car park of a licensed premises near Woodville Road, Villawood.

An unknown man opened the passenger door and demanded the woman hand over her belongings.

The woman exited the vehicle as the man reached for her handbag and car keys. The woman fell to the ground and sustained a minor cut to her hand and bruising to her leg.

The man then left the location on foot before the woman alerted staff from the licensed premises.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were contacted, and a crime scene established

As investigations continue, police have released CCTV vision of two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries, and a vehicle seen in the area at the time.

One man is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, unshaven, wearing a dark grey hooded-jumper, grey trackpants, white shoes and a cap.

The second man is described as wearing a black long-sleeved top, black pants, a black cap and white shoes.

A white sedan was also seen in the area at the time of the incident. Officers are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage from the area between 8pm and 10pm on Tuesday 16 July 2019 to please come forward.
