Police release image as investigation into boat theft continues

Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released a Facefit image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries following the theft of two boats in Vermont on Saturday 5 October.

Investigators have been told a group of between three to five people attended a marine business on Canterbury Road about 5am and broke in stealing two boats.

The boats are described as a white and light blue Malibu registered UM709, on a trailer registered Z19075 and a white and dark blue Malibu registered R0570, on a trailer registered W2111.

The boats are collectively valued at $250,000.

The group were believed to be driving two vehicles, a dark coloured Nissan Patrol Utility and a black SUV.

Police have released a digital image of a man they believe could assist with enquiries, he was perceived as being of Indian appearance, in his mid 30s, about 175cm tall and of a solid build.

Police have released images and CCTV footage of the two boats and vehicles in the hope that someone may have seen them or has dash-cam footage of them being towed along Canterbury Road following the theft.
