Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a motorcycle collided with a car in Broadmeadows Saturday evening.
The rider and pillion passenger were riding a motorcycle on Widford Street about 8.30pm when they collided with a car turning into Lahinch Street.
The male rider, who is yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene.
The female passenger of the motorbike has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries
The driver of the car stopped and is assisting police with their enquiries.
A passenger in the car received minor injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
