Police and emergency services attended a collision between a car and motorcycle in Heatherton Road, Springvale South this afternoon (23 February).
It is believed the motorcycle was travelling east on Heatherton Road when it collided with a silver SUV making a right turn on to Corio Street about 4.45pm.
The rider, who is yet to be formally identified, sustained critical injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment but died on the way.
The driver, a 35-year-old Springvale man, stopped at the scene to assist.
No one else was injured during the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who
