Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Aratula

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash at Aratula this morning, October 28.

Initial investigations indicate just after 8am, a Holden Rodeo utility was travelling south along the Cunningham Highway towards Aratula when it hit a Toyota Hilux utility travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Toyota, a 71-year-old Moogerah man, was declared deceased at the scene.

The other driver, a 32-year-old Alexandra hills woman, was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Her two passengers, aged 4-years-old and 2-years-old, were taken to Ipswich Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant vision is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
