Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash this morning at Gadgarra.
Around 9.30am two people were travelling on the Gillies Highway when a tree fell on their vehicle.
The driver, a 38-year-old woman from Bayview Heights, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Bayview Heights, was transported by rescue helicopter to Cairns Base hospital in a stable condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
