Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Inala 8 December

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a single vehicle crash on Skylark Street this afternoon (December 8), where a male pedestrian was struck and died at the scene.

Initial investigations indicate the 78-year-old Doolandella man was crossing the street when he was hit by a blue Ford Falcon station wagon.

Passers-by attempted to render first aid to the man, however he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the car, a 73-year-old Inala man, is assisting police with inquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the blue Ford Falcon in the area at the time, or who may have relevant dash-cam footage to contact them.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.
