Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Iveragh

A man has died following a two vehicle crash at Iveragh, near Gladstone, yesterday afternoon (July 17).

Initial investigations indicates at approximately 5.45pm a Ford Falcon sedan was travelling north on the Bruce Highway, between the Turkey Beach and Tannum Sands exits, when a crash has occurred with a Toyota Hilux utility travelling south.

The male driver and sole occupant of the sedan suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the utility were not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone with information, who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
