The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a car and motorcycle collided on Longlands Gap Rd at Kalunga.
Paramedics assisted the 67-year-old male rider at the scene, before he was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital by helicopter, however he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
The 76-year-old driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
The road remains closed and investigations are continuing.
