Police responding to serious car crash at Mulgrave

Police are seeking witnesses to a serious car crash in Mulgrave last night.

Emergency services were called to Springvale Road to reports a blue Ford Mustang had crashed into a tree alongside the road around 6pm.

The male driver aged in his 60s was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

The Mustang was travelling northbound at the time of the crash, and debris from the crash hit two vehicles travelling southbound on Springvale Road.

The occupants of those two vehicles were not injured.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, or with dash cam footage, and would like to speak with the driver of a white BMW sedan which was seen in the area at the time of the crash.

The BMW was last seen travelling north on Springvale Road in Mulgrave.

Investigators are appealing for the driver to come forward and contact police.

The exact circumstances of the crash are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.
