Police responding to serious traffic crash at Brighton

Police from the Forensic Crash Unit are currently at the scene of a four vehicle traffic crash on the Deagon Deviation, southbound at Brighton.

Early indications are that just before 1am a 59-year-old Windsor man crashed his moped and was found lying on the road by passing motorists who stopped to help.

It is believed that another car then collided with two stationary vehicles.

The driver of one car was out of his vehicle attempting to help the moped rider and avoided the collision. However the driver of the other car was still inside their vehicle and was injured as a result of the crash.

The driver of the third car who had crashed into the stationary cars was transported to hospital with non-life- threatening injuries.

The moped rider was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the rider on his grey coloured Kymco moped, or who may have relevant dash-cam footage, to contact them.
