Police responding to serious traffic crash at Kirwan

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a serious traffic crash involving six young people on Ross River Road this morning.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a stolen Toyota Tarago minivan has lost control and overturned at about 6:57am.

All six occupants of the vehicle, five boys and one girl between the ages of 10 and 14 were treated at the scene and were transported to Townsville Hospital with varying degrees of injuries.

Two boys aged 10 are in a critical condition with head injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
