Police responding to serious traffic crash at Mount Pleasant

The Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for witnesses following a two vehicle traffic crash at Mount Pleasant this morning (November 20).

Initial information indicates shortly after 6.30 two vehicles collided at the intersection of Bruce Highway and Sams Road before one of the vehicles, a stolen white Toyota Landcruiser, left the scene.

The driver of the other car, a 75-year-old Blacks Beach woman, was transported to the Mackay Hospital with serious injuries.

The white Toyota Landcruiser, stolen from an Andergrove address earlier this morning, was located in Cemetery Road following the crash and investigations are continuing to locate the driver.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the areas between the crash and Cemetery road between 6.30 -6.45am to contact police.
