Police responding to serious traffic crash at Rollingstone

Police are investigating a serious two vehicle traffic crash in Rollingstone overnight.

Around 1am, approximately 400m north of Ollera Creek, a Toyota Corolla sedan was travelling north on the Bruce Highway when it struck the back of a Toyota Hilux utility carrying out line marking.

The 46-year-old female driver of the sedan was by airlifted to Townsville University Hospital with serious leg injuries.

The 33-year-old male driver of the utility was transported to Townsville University Hospital with head and spinal injuries.

The Bruce Highway was closed for six hours.

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
