Police are investigating a serious single vehicle traffic crash in Tingalpa early this morning.
Initial inquiries indicate just after 1.30am a SUV was headed north on the Gateway Motorway before taking the offramp onto Wynnum Road and crashing into a tree.
A 36-year-old local man, who was the driver and sole occupant, was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
