Police are investigating a serious traffic incident in Mermaid Waters this morning.
At 9.30am a 65-year-old woman was crossing at the intersection of Markeri Street and Sunshine Boulevard when she was struck by a vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the woman suffered serious head injuries.
She was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to life-threatening-injuries.
The 86-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was not injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
