Police search for man after North Melbourne sexual assault

Detectives from Transit Crime Investigation Unit have released images of a man they are looking for in relation to a sexual assault of a teenager in North Melbourne last month.

The 15-year-old girl was approached by an unknown man whilst waiting for a train at North Melbourne Railway Station on Friday, 4 February about 1.45pm.

The man started a conversation with the victim before he grabbed her hand and forcefully pulled her into a hug. He then pulled her face mask down and kissed her face.

The train arrived and the victim ran down the platform and boarded a carriage; the man then followed her onto the same carriage.

He began grabbing the teenager’s hand again and attempted to converse with her.

Other commuters intervened and confronted the man who then got off the train at Footscray about 1.54pm.

Detectives have released images of a man they are looking to speak to in relation to the incident.
