Police seek help to locate missing hiker Colin

Police are currently searching and appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Irish hiker Colin.

According to messages exchanged with a friend, the 34-year-old was due to begin hiking on the McMillan Walking Track in Cobungra on 19 March.

Colin had planned to finish his hike in Woods Point and return to Omeo on 31 March.

His vehicle was located at the East Gippsland Shire car park on Tongio Road, Omeo about 10am on 3 April.

Police and family are concerned for Colin’s welfare due his disappearance being out of character.

Local police units are searching the area with assistance from the police Air Wing, Search and Rescue Squad and Parks Victoria.

An image of Colin has been released in the hope someone will come forward with information about his current whereabouts.

Colin is described as being about 170cm tall, of solid build with short ginger hair. He also has a ginger beard, moustache and a surgical scar on his right knee.

He was last seen wearing Scarpa brand hiking boots and a Cartha brand jacket. He is also travelling with a grey Deuter brand backpack with a light blue whistle and navigation tools attached.
