Police seek help to locate owner of stolen burial documents

Narre Warren police are hoping to locate the owner of stolen burial documents which were located during an intercept in Clyde North in May.

Local police intercepted a car with two occupants inside on Blackhazel Crescent about 5am on 6 May.

Officers searched the vehicle and located drugs, weapons and suspected stolen items including burial documents.

Investigators have made attempts to locate the rightful owner but have been unsuccessful so far.

The documents date back to 1867 and investigators believe they would hold sentimental value to its owner.

Investigators have released images of three separate documents in the hope someone recognises them and comes forward.

Anyone who believes the documents may belong to them is asked to contact Narre Warren Police Station on 9705 3111.
