Police seek information after building fire in Kirrawee

Police are appealing for information as investigations continue into a fire at an industrial complex in Sydney’s south at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, Kirrawee about 10.05pm on Sunday 3 May 2020, when a fire was seen by member of the public within an upstairs unit of the complex.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command and Fire and Rescue NSW found the second storey of the building engulfed by flames.

The fire was first extinguished at 1.15am on Monday (4 May 2020), before the fire re-ignited. Fire and Rescue NSW crews managed to extinguish the blaze just before 5am.

No one was injured in the fire, but the entire second floor of the building suffered significant damage.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

As inquiries continue, officers are appealing for anyone with information, including those who may have filmed the fire or have dashcam footage, to come forward.
