Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a large quantity of tyres allegedly illegally dumped in Livingstone.
Unknown persons have illegally dumped approximately 500 used tyres on private property in the vicinity of Old Bynoe Road. Police believe this occurred between late Tuesday, 7 May and early Friday, 10 May.
A current vehicle of interest is described as a mid-sized tip truck which police believe has returned to the location up to 15 times to offload tyres.
This is a significant amount of tyres with the potential for major environmental impact. The Northern Territory Environmental Protection Agency have been notified and are assisting with enquiries.
